Tech’s Notes: “These have a much more rigid rotational feel. The dust seal is easily removable with a pair of pliers. Same with the extra little tab on the side that sticks up. Some people like to remove the tab and place it in the center of the ‘split’. That way the pot can be used with knobs built for solid shafts, and the tab prevents the split shaft from collapsing due to over-tightening.”
