Cabinet

A tremendous amount of attention has been put into ensuring that performance matches that of the original speakers. CLA10 is made from MDF with a real wood veneer. We changed the rear terminal plate to use a better grade of connector. The crossover network uses the same value capacitors just a better grade of material and rating. The inductors exactly match the original in dc resistance, winding dimensions and value.

Drivers

The AV10-MHF tweeter dome went through a difficult engineering process to get the exact phenolic resin doping to match the original performance curve. We do this in-house to ensure and exact match with every lot. The AV10-MLF woofer uses custom tooled mechanical parts that recreate the original. The AV10-MLF woofer cone is made to match the original. One of the original vendors is our supplier and we worked closely with them to get the same stiffness and weight. The main difference is we chose to go with a pressed cone as opposed to a lapped. This allows tighter control over stiffness and weight. All of our testing revealed no tonal difference or response between ours and the original. This has the added benefit of being the first time matched pairs are truly available.

The newest addition to the CLA family of products, the 100WRMS per channel CLA-100 is a robust, convection only cooled, 1U rack mounted amplifier with the classic sound of hifi and studio class AB systems. Similar to its more powerful brother, the CLA-100 is powered with an oversized toroidal transformer and populated with generous, high-quality Japanese filter caps; driven by a classic complement of power MOSFETs for a detailed high end.

Careful attention to thermal design allows this unit to ONLY be convection cooled, NO fans on board! This allows the amp to be in the same room as tracking without fan noise in your recordings. In a solid 1U steel chassis, this can be used for same room studio amplification and even light duty in live sound. The CLA-100 is perfect for almost all passive studio monitor needs. The CLA-100 is a miniature workhorse, delivering 100WRMS at less than 1%THD+Noise (1kHz) into 8 ohms per channel. Razor flat response of +/-0.25dB from 20Hz to 30kHz at full rated power gives the listener sonic quality equivalent to amplifiers costing several times as much.
