This bundle contains Radial Engineering’s J48 mk2 and X-Amp re-amper.

J48 mk2

The J48 mk2, from Radial Engineering, is an active direct box specifically engineered to afford ample headroom despite operating within the current constraints imposed by 48V Phantom Power. The unit contains a switching power supply that enables peak transients of up to 9V and subsequently produces a low range harmonic distortion, improved dynamics, and half the intermodulation distortion of other DI boxes.

The J48 mk2 features a -15dB pad, a merge function that mixes two signals into a single mono signal,180 degree polarity reverse, and ground lift. If all that wasnt enough, the unit is housed inside a sturdy chassis that affords ample protection in the studio, on the stage, and everywhere in-between.

X-Amp

The X-Amp Active Reamplifier, from Radial Engineering, is a flexible and inherently creative device that takes a prerecorded track from a line-level unit and uses it to drive up to two guitar amplifiers or two effects pedals at the same time. To do this, the unit utilizes a custom Class-A circuit that is especially suited for use with guitars. One can record a track via high quality direct box, then route this track to the X-amp before sending it to their effects pedals, guitar amp, or any combination of the two.

In the studio, the X-amp can be implemented in several ways. Once the bare bones of a track have been recorded, users can replace or add tracks any time they want, with or without the session player. This effectively negates any lag time that could potentially result in frustrating repetitiveness and promotes a robust, potent performance for the master recording. Additionally, since the unit can drive two amps at once, the creation of new sounds and textures becomes extremely simple. This affords engineers and artists an ample amount of space for artistic freedom.

The X-Amp benefits from the implementation of Class-A circuit topology, which enables robust frequency response, and 180 degree polarity reverse that ensures both amps stay in phase. There are also direct and isolated guitar amplifier outputs, as well as dual ground lift options that ensure noise-free operation.
